CAD/CAM engineer getting out of college with multiple skills at my hands to be used in the engineering field. I am seeking a job to help challenge me and to further my skills. Working here may not mean much in the Engineering world but this job taught me to be more responsible. It taught me to step up and to work hard at my job. I learned that I had to find ways to keep myself busy and find work to do for myself. It also taught me people skills, it taught me how to deal with and help solve people’s problems. This job also taught me that I would rather be an engineer then work in retail.

Currently working on a Bachelor’s degree for Engineering CAD/CAM emphasis on Civil and Architectural design. I've also received training on how to be a better leader from attending here. I took a class called the EDGE program and did the subclass in it called leadership engagement. This class taught me to be a leader in many ways. It made me set up a project to do. So I did a service project for the program. It taught me how to organize and communicate with people in order to get things done. I really learned how to step up and get things done with the EDGE program.

Thank you for taking the time to read my cover letter. I am writing to express my strong interest in the Engineering department at UDOT. I am currently a student at Southern University of Utah (SUU) and will be graduating in fall of 2018 with an Engineering Degree in CAD/CAM. I'm very interested in joining your team and applying my creativity and focus to an impressive company like UDOT.
I believe that my academic background and training has prepared me perfectly this position. While a student at SUU, I had the opportunity to learn a number of valuable skills such as the required computer programs that may be important to know, for example I know how to use; inventor, AutoCAD, Revit, CATIA, and Solidworks, that will undoubtedly contribute to my success in this role. I have also obtained leadership and organizational skills through one of my schools programs called the EDGE program.
This program focused on teaching me leadership skills by having me set up my on project to do. I did a service project for the city by repainting the faded street curbs red. This whole project taught me how to act like a leader, to be able to direct people and be beneficial to the community. I now have more confidence in being a leader from this EDGE program.
